A family affair Angelo alongside his son Gianluca offer their guests a truly innovative experience in a delightful place.

Villa Giade is a family affair: the Deflorio family. It all started with Angelo&´s passion for gastronomy and great food. "Discovering the cuisine of Valchiavenna is a bit like discovering something about yourself " is the way Gianluca sums up the philosophy with which he interprets his role as chef in the kitchen of Villa Giade. Alongside him there is dad Angelo. Their idea is to offer traditional dishes whilst reinventing all into something new, creative, different and never predictable.

"Throughout the whole of Valchiavenna there is some great traditional gastronomy", they concur "in lots of restaurants you can enjoy excellent local products, cooked precisely as they were a century ago. Guests are attracted and more than satisfied by this type of experience, but at Villa Giade we want to offer something different".
 
And thanks to their know-how acquired over many years, Angelo and Gianluca have decided to propose traditional dishes in a contemporary key. Their intent is to offer guests a new and memorable experience of modern gastronomy, which has its roots in the past but is enhanced by the techniques of current cuisine, which maximises the flavours and aromas of traditional ingredients. “In our garden here at Villa Giade we grow aromatic herbs and a range of vegetables that we serve in our restaurant" they are keen to divulge, "we are linked directly to the territory, to the seasons and to this splendid valley. It&´s our way of celebrating it. We produce all the jams that we serve for breakfast ourselves and that we use for cakes and dessert, never losing sight of the richness of nature all round".
