My intense passion for animals is clearly down to my grandfather. At the beginning there were the dogs. Hence my education was to develop around a love in particular for English Pointers and Dalmatians, and resulted in me emerging as a significant presence within the breeding world, backed up by considerable successes with individuals in working trials, exhibitions and dog shows.
Over the years my interests inevitably diversified and began to incorporate park animals, bred with the same standards of selection and discipline. So much so that today we have reached the point where we can boast a pretty decent number of species and breeds, all housed on the farm. These include zebra, dromedary, camels, fallow deer, llama, alpaca and large parrots of a range of breeds. We also host birds of prey, aquatic and various park birds.
The project I originally had in mind was to create a multi-purpose structure in which a variety of species could live together in harmony. A comfortable environment for all shapes and sizes, where each could be bred and raised, whilst at the same time providing opportunities for anyone to visit, observe and appreciate the range of species, in total safety.
Today this very same dream is taking shape at the Dartemis Villa Contis, which aims to become a zoo-technical reference point in which you can find and acquire many different species of park animals and selected dogs, all bred and raised with passion, commitment, professionalism and tranquillity.
Dartemis Villa Contis is based in Somaggia, part of Samolaco. In addition to several boxes, the structure boasts large enclosed paddocks with sand and lawns and adjoining shelters for times of inclement weather, and in which large herbivores are housed.
There is an expansive and comfortable stable in which pregnant females and their young offspring enjoy all the security they require. And to frame this attractive alternative oasis, we have created some impressive aviaries for birds of prey and mammals which thanks to their ample size guarantee all the animals’ biological requirements and their security.
A highly trained and motivated staff are readily available to the public for visits and educational days.
See you soon!
