Chiavenna plays host to a group of young, talented professionals who approach the recovery of buildings in an innovative and sustainable fashion. It&´s a young staff, all under-40 which creates modern and sustainable solutions, inspired by the concept of "designing and building well". It&´s a formula that runs right through the work of Emmezeta, a dynamic and innovative company, protagonist in recent years of some of the most interesting residential interventions in Chiavenna. It&´s overall aim is the recovery of disused buildings, to breathe life into existing living spaces designed for the very best energy saving and ensuring the optimum well-being for those who live and work there.
The vision of Emmezeta takes very much on board the professional legacy left by Fausto Morani, founder in 1936 of the original company, developed by his successors through to the &´90&´s and now evolved into today&´s reality. The process underlying Emmezeta&´s work develops along simple lines. The restoration of buildings town-style, with elegance to the fore, much-appreciated by the market for its refined and modern appeal, consistent with principles of sustainability and energy saving. All this whilst proposing a complete "keys at the ready" service, ensuring that every bureaucratic step is simplicity itself. Emmezeta&´s portfolio of successes is impressive. Its first venture was the "Residenze alle Città d’Italia”: at the very heart of the historic centre overlooking the Piazza Pestalozzi in a 16th century mansion.
It 2014 it was the turn of the “Residenza sul Mera”, recovering an old 19th century mill, tastefully converted into one of the most beautiful housing complexes in Chiavenna. These innovations were followed by “La Casa sul Mera” in 2019 and the recovery of the historic "Curt di Asen", one of the most photographed corners of the town and the only remaining testimony to the ancient wooden balconies that survived the destructive fire in the town in 1486. The portfolio is completed by the recent residential nucleus in via Carducci and the imminent launch of an ambitious renovation in the Oltremera district.
Emmezeta is always looking to the future and is taking its "building well" formula and style to
Madesimo. It will shortly be starting work on Villa Bella vista with a view to redeveloping the 70&´s building in the woods on the opposite bank to the ski slopes. Another ambitious project offering lovers of this Alpine resort a further six modern and welcoming residential opportunities, created according to the principled guiding values that energise this exciting Chiavenna operation.
