Snowboard passion

If you weren’t already aware – Valchiavenna’s just up the road from Milan and in winter opens up all sorts of snow-orientated possibilities whilst cradling you in the arms of a wild and unspoilt Nature.

Right here you can leave everyday stresses well behind and devote yourself entirely to the peace and tranquillity of Nature following its timeless, rhythmic course. State-of-the-art-transport systems propel you speedily to the Skiareas above Campodolcino and Madesimo, where winter sport aficionados have all the space in the world to strut their stuff on crisp, superbly-maintained piste. Days of unadulterated excitement beckon for board enthusiasts throughout a genuinely diverse range of piste to suit all levels of ability. Many revolve around Pizzo Groppera (2948m) the perfect spot to improve your technique on the pristine powdery stuff. New recruits move effortlessly from gentle slope to join playful squirrels in the equally engaging and undemanding woodlands. The more adventurous can tackle Val di Lei at nearly 3000m. where thanks to its exposure you can find “winter” snow even in springtime, with challenging slopes and a range of off-piste options. Then of course there’s the legendary Canalone for the technically adept, and a range of itineraries to suit both expert and fledgling riders who’ve just taken to their boards. At the same time everyone is encouraged to equip themselves with all appropriate safety equipment:
Finally it’s invaluable to consult local weather and snow condition bulletins. the flagship feature of the whole Skiarea Valchiavenna is that of
