Refuges Osteria Alpina (Novate Mezzola)

The inn offers catering and overnight stays and organises activities for the visiting public: photography workshops, yoga, events and displays.
 
The refuge is situated at a height of 850m and is thus easily accessible for all. Fruit and vegetables are locally cultivated, all on a strictly biological basis, which serve all the needs of the kitchen. Hence typical local traditional dishes are to the fore.... with some delicious, homemade surprises.
 
The refuge is situated in the small village of Codera, at the heart of an unspoilt valley far from busy roads and yet inhabitable all year round. It’s very existence is based on agriculture, livestock and traditional crafts: it remains a mountain area throbbing with life which makes its genuine beauty even more engaging.
 
The delightful picture is completed by the wide variety of landscapes, flora and fauna - brought about because of the height difference between the mouth of the valley and the peaks that enclose it, some of which rise to more than 3000m. The area provides opportunities for relaxing outings with magnificent panoramas as well as more challenging excursions for trekking enthusiasts.
 
The village is also home to an ethnographic museum including activities relating to the chestnut; visitors are welcome, entry is free and the museum bears witness to an Alpine culture which might well be almost forgotten and yet remains full of interest and charm.
