Secret glimpses

ALPEGGI SOPRA ISOLA
The high pastures of Isola, forming part of the municipality of Madesimo are along the climb from the village towards Val Febbraro.
Fantastic views await once you’re up and away as Marcello’s camera illustrates perfectly: Stabisotto, Vamlera, Cascata della Val Febbraro, Borghetto, outings to Lago del Baldiscio or al Pian dei Cavalli and Lago Bianco beckon.
 
MONTI DI VILLA
We made three suggestions for outings. They form almost a triangle on the map as they touch three points at the valley’s extremities, to the South, North and East towards the Engadine. His images speak for themselves.
To get to Alpi di Villa, you climb up the left relief side. We are in Valbregaglia, moving along paths that go from Bondo all the way to Uschione. To get about by car you’ll need to get a permit for the consortium road towards Cantone Laghetti.
 
PAIEDO - ERA DI SAMOLACO
Paiedo – involves making your way up from Era, Samolaco towards the church dedicated to Sant’Andrea. It’s a relatively unknown Alpine pasture, but is genuinely active in summertime thanks in part to a healthy bunch of volunteers.
This splendid spot overlooks the whole of lower Valchiavenna.
