Autumn’s the ideal time to enjoy some of the classic corners of Valchiavenna,
and excitingly now you can - via a new perspective enriched by an infinite colour spectrum.
We invited a number of photographers who specialise in aerial shots to capture some of the most magnificent views for us. This is their very own work.
How can the landscape that surrounds us appear to change when observed from a different altitude/angle than the one in our everyday existence. It became much clearer when Marco Carenini and Matteo Maraffio turnedup with a selection of their aerial shots of Valchiavenna taken last Autumn.
Producing an interesting image means representing unique views of the world all around.
Something original and out of the ordinary even though it may concern matters that we readily recognise. The crux of this particular activity is the possibility of capturing images from unconventional positions.
Aerial photography has to be one of the best means of providing a new perspective.
And so Alpine lakes that we usually visit during the most vibrant months of the year, become homogeneous patches broken up only by the wind inspired rippling. They are characterised by their well-defined perimeters, surrounded by the orange tips of the larches.
The same is true for the streets, which, on the onset of the first snowfalls of Autumn, turn into dark snakes twisting along seemingly flat surfaces. Whilst all around, only the white branches retaining their orange extremities. And Alpine villages too become ever more magical when observed from on high with waterways and interlocking roads merely sketched out.
The world from above throws up a new and very special view of our habitat.
The image may lose its depth but acquires new significance that transforms our perception into something novel, different indeed but still recognisable.
