Eliski

If you form part of that breed of person that dreams of flying down magnificent virgin slopes on skis at break-neck speed, then you’re probably just the type to appreciate the thrills and excitement of eliski.
In Valchiavenna, Blossom Experience offers just such opportunities.
Trips in helicopters to the most impressive peaks within the Alpe Retiche, from where the excursionist descends on ski or snowboard.
Just imagine. And all within the silence of isolated high valleys; ideally on a day following a light snowfall. An adventure of this nature is a picture-postcard scenario, but it does require participants to be more than a little familiar with winter sports on high. The eliski experience is already a feature in many areas within the Alpine chain; from France to Switzerland many tour operators offer packages that incorporate transfers by helicopters to the upper mountains, otherwise inaccessible, and in addition for those who so wish - will arrange excellent lunches in isolated chalets at more than 2000 metres up. Happily it’s a proposition that’s also available nowadays in Valchiavenna and makes full use of the expertise of local Alpine guides who guarantee that the choice of destination does not compromise safety considerations and that the manner in which the outings are undertaken is of the very highest standards. And the same applies to ensuring a minimal impact on a wild and natural environment or indeed any disturbance caused to other ski excursionists. Helicopter flights usually leave from either Madesimo or Valle di Lei - all making for an easy transfer for skiers.
Typical destinations include the area around Pizzo Stella, Angeloga, Pizzo Emet and Ferrè. Along with the guide, Blossom Experience equip each skier with the ARVA transmitter system for search and safety purposes, plus all necessary emergency equipment and of course the helicopter fleet are modern with highly qualified pilots with vast experience of mountain flying. To book your helicopter excursion or simply to find out more information, why not have a look at the internet site www.blossomexperience.com or contact us by telephone.
Apart from the standard package on offer, other possibilities – all differentiated in terms of cost and programme – include quality and traditional lunches in refuges at altitude – and a range of excursions, all custom-built around individual requirements.
